Pastels

Since my student days pastels have been a favourite medium of mine. I often build up the pastels in layers, letting the colours glow through eachother. This can create an effect of great depth and richness. The luminosity of the colours and dry texture have always appealed to me as does the slight physical resistance of the medium.
